Dear Soling Family,
The Canadian Soling Association would like to extend an invitation to all Canadian and International Soling sailors to attend the 2012 North American Championship Regatta. This year’s Championship will be held as part of the CORK One Design Regatta in Kingston Ontario August 23th to 26th 2013.
The CORK venue in Kingston offers some of the best fresh-water sailing in the world, excellent wind and wave conditions, and a short distance from shore to the race courses.
Leading up to the 1976 Olympics, the CORK regatta offered excellent training for sailors, coaches and officials and has since become a fixture on the international calendar. CORK has hosted championships for international classes out of the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour for the past 36 years. Kingston is fortunate to have a thermal wind that arises most afternoons and usually reaches 10-12 knots. This wind is attributed to the topography of the area and specifically the presence of lakes and the rocks of the Canadian Shield to the northeast of the city.
Shore facilities include event offices, boat launching, trailer storage, dockage, internet café, change room facilities, cafeteria, boat and gear repair services and chandlery.
Please mark this exciting event in your calendars today; this will be an excellent warm up to the upcoming Worlds in Milwaukee and an event to remember.
